Hospitalized
We just had an awful weekend, Carissa was hospitalized for 3 days! Read along for the whole story.
How it started:
It all started Friday morning when Carissa was found stiffed lying on the couch, her posture was like a flipped over frog. The night prior, she was co-sleeping with me and William in our bedroom, and then she complained having nightmares, crying every 30 minutes to a point that William could not put up to her cries anymore, so, me and Carissa ended up crashing on the couch. Anyways, so, she was stiffed on the couch complaining pain in her lower body as well as both of her arms. Her senses of touch were still good when I tested those specific body parts, her fingers and toes all moved fine, her neck moved fine, but when we attempted to move her away from the couch by reaching my hand underneath her lower back, she cried bad for pain. Clueless whether it was a bone fracture or whatever, we decided to seek for professional help. We called the ambulance.
At the hospital:
Still remaining in her rigid position, they had to run several tests/scans on her, X-Ray films to rule out signs of bone fracture; MRI scan to rule out lumps on spinal cord, brain, etc; blood tests; urine tests…Good news: everything suspected by the Specialists were all ruled out. Thanks GOD!!! But you cannot imagine how worried I was and that I think I almost blacked out when the Doctors threw me in with all worst case scenarios!!! No kidding! My heart broke when I heard her cries, she cried and screamed because they inserted the IV, because they drew blood, because they wanted to collect urine samples, because they wanted to examine her legs.
After a two days stay, she was released, fact was, her legs started moving again in the middle of the night, kicking away blankets. Towards the end of day two, she was jumping on one leg already!!!
Conclusion:
It was probably major muscle pain she was experiencing and perhaps along with a minor sprain. Gawd, all these don’t deserve the tests she had to go through. But then if you see the Carissa on the couch that morning, unable to move cause of pain (come to think of it, we guess she chose not to move instead of unable to move), you would be worried too, now, all major tests done, nothing unusual seen, we’re now mind-ease.
She’s all good now, back to her old self, jumping off to the floor mat from the couch is no biggie again. But I tell ya, you can’t imagine how worried William and I were.

William feeding Carissa congee after she woke up from her MRI scan, they had to knock her out for the scan, poor thing. And before that, she was not allowed to drink or eat, so, she was really starving when she had that bowl of congee.
And when she was fed, she still refused to move her lower body cause of pain. I say, she lay still in the same position for at least 12+ hours!

This one was taken couple of hours before she was released from the hospital Sunday morning, all happy again, and fact was, she was jumping on one leg shortly after this picture was taken.
